Some applications require the use of 2 layers for a container. With the DeCo process, two related materials are extruded simultaneously to form one parison.
The inner main layer usually consists of approx. 80-85% of the total wall thickness and the remaining 10-15% are used for the outer, "DeCorational" layer.

This application is mainly used for:

  • The use of expensive masterbatch (pearlized colors)
  • The use of special materials such as "Softtouch"
  • Enhance the appearance of the container by only coloring the outside and covering the inner regrind or recycled material layer.

With this DeCo process, color concentrate savings of up to 50% can be achieved.

We also offer heads that reverse the material structure. The main layer is then on the outside. This special application is used when running containers that require a thin inner UV block layer.

View-stripe is available with either structure.

W. Muller USA can supply you with complete turnkey retrofit packages to convert to DeCo.

Included in the package is:

  • Custom-made extrusion head
  • Vertical extruder for the outer layer
  • Control cabinet to run the extruder
  • Additional heat zones, if needed
